Meet the Artist

From Code to Canvas

Hi, I'm Suzan — a full-time artist, teacher, creative spirit, and the heart behind Creative Corner. 🎨✨ My journey to art wasn't a straight line, and honestly, that's what makes it worth telling.

For years, I worked as a computer engineer, spending my days solving complex problems through logic and precision. I loved the challenge, but something was always pulling me toward a different kind of expression — one measured not in lines of code, but in brushstrokes and color.

The Pivot That Changed Everything

When the world slowed down during Covid, I finally gave myself permission to paint. What started as a way to unwind from the stress of coding quickly became a calling. I picked up a brush and never really put it down. That quiet, uncertain time turned into the most creatively alive period of my life — and I knew there was no going back.

A New Chapter in Texas

In 2024, my family and I made a big move from sunny California to Richardson, Texas — and with it came the opportunity to build something new. I founded Creative Corner as a space where art isn't intimidating or exclusive, but joyful, accessible, and meant for everyone. Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or you've been creating for decades, there's a place for you here.

Art for All Ages

My passion is creating inclusive art experiences that bring people together across generations. I've hosted painting parties and art classes for ladies, couples, youth, and kids — and I believe creativity is something we're all born with. Sometimes it just needs a little encouragement and the right environment to flourish. No skills required, just curiosity and an open mind!

The Art Itself

I've explored many mediums over the years — graphite, colored pencils, pastels, watercolor, oils, digital art, and calligraphy — but acrylics stole my heart. They dry fast (perfect for this impatient artist 😉), are forgiving, and incredibly versatile. My inspiration comes from nature, the weather, and the works of other artists.

Selling my first painting was an emotional milestone. Knowing that my art now hangs in homes around the world, bringing beauty to people I've never met, means everything to me.

Behind the Scenes

When I'm not teaching or hosting a painting party, you'll find me creating content and running the website and social media — yes, it's a lot, but I absolutely love it! I also have two wonderful girls who keep me on my toes once school is out.

Whether you're here to collect a painting, join a class, or just browse — I'm so glad you stopped by. I hope my art brings a spark of joy to your day.
